The best way to stay informed about upcoming meetings, events, and opportunities for involvement is to read AMPE communications (sent by email to your personal (non-McGill) account) and attend Association activities.

AMPE is a member-driven association. Its strength depends on the engagement, participation, and collective contributions of its members. Whether you are new to the Faculty of Education or have been part of the community for many years, there are many ways to become involved in the life of the Association.

General Meetings provide members with opportunities to learn about the work of the Association, discuss issues affecting academic staff, and contribute to decision-making. AMPE holds at least one General Meeting during each of the fall and winter terms. Members are encouraged to attend, ask questions, share perspectives, and participate in discussions.

AMPE periodically organizes opportunities for members to connect with colleagues in informal and collegial settings. These activities help strengthen relationships across departments and provide opportunities to exchange ideas, share experiences, and build community within the Faculty.

Weekly lunches provide a regular opportunity for members to connect with colleagues, discuss current issues, and strengthen community within the Faculty.

Members play an important role in shaping the work and priorities of AMPE. Opportunities to contribute may include:

  • Sharing expertise and perspectives on matters of importance to the Faculty and the profession
  • Serving on committees or working groups
  • Assisting with events and member engagement activities
  • Providing feedback on issues affecting academic staff
  • Supporting communication and outreach initiatives
